If you would, turn in your Bibles with me to the book of Acts
chapter ten. Acts chapter ten and verse thirty-eight. Acts chapter
ten and verse thirty-eight. When you reach the book of Acts
chapter ten, please signify by saying amen.
Tonight God is speaking to us about oppression. Oppression,
because oppression brings sickness and disease. Glory to God.
In Acts chapter ten and verse thirty-eight . . . Please stand to
your feet on tonight. It said:
38. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost
and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that
were oppressed of the devil . . .
He healed all that were oppressed of the devil
38. . . . for God was with him.
Let us pray.
Most holy and gracious heavenly Father, we thank You for who
You are and for what You do. Master, hide Your son behind the
cross, that Your people would see and hear You only, and not me.
Master, I decrease right now, that You would increase. And Lord,
let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be
acceptable in Thy sight, oh Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.
In Jesus’ Name.
And the people of God said amen. You may be seated in the
house of the Lord.
God had been dealing with me today with oppression. He had
been dealing with me with the spirit of oppression on today. In the
book of Exodus chapter three verse nine and ten God said He
had seen the oppression of His people. And glory to God, God is
now saying to the people of God He has seen the oppression of
His people. And now God is going to bring forth a mighty
deliverance.
When we look (glory to God) at what oppression is, oppression is
subjection to unjust hardships. In the book of Psalms fifty-four
and verse three, David began to pray to God, because the
oppressors were after him. But isn’t it interesting that in Psalm
fifty-four and verse three, David said, “The oppressors are after
me.” And not only did he say that they were after him, but he
said, “They are after my soul.” He said, “The oppressors are after
my soul.”
You see, the soul is that vital existence of man. It is the seat of
our feelings and our desires and affection and our will. Glory to
God. You see, our soulish realm deals with our intellect, and our
intellect carries the capacity (glory to God) for understanding and
knowledge, and the ability to think abstractly and profoundly even.
Glory to God.
You see, when your soul is being tormented, it affects your whole
body. I’m going to say that again. When your soul is being
tormented it affects your whole body, and that’s why a lot of
people get sick at the drop of the dime, because the spirit of
oppression (my God) is tormenting their soul. You’ve got to
understand that that soul is your mind. You have got to get your
mind renewed by the Word of God. Because after while you’re
going to suffer a breakdown. Look at your neighbor and say, “I
refuse to be broken down.”
Oppression. Oppression in the house of God should not be. You
see, when the children of Israel were oppressed, the Bible said
that God saw. And there are people that are in here tonight that
are oppressed, and God is saying to you that He sees your
oppression.
In Third John (glory to God) and verse two it says, “Beloved, I
wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health,
even as thy soul prospers.”
You see, your prosperity and your health is connected to your
thinking and your thought process. That’s why it’s important to
get our minds right. That’s why it’s important to keep our minds in
order. Don’t you know that Satan will try to take a hold of your
mind and control your whole body through your mind?
There’s sickness because of the torment of soul. Your mind being
renewed by the Word of God is so important to you. That’s why
you’ve got to get in the Word of God.
You see, that leads me to a question when I say it causes me to
be in good health and my soul to prosper. It leads me to a
question. How does my soul prosper? You see, my soul
prospers by reading and meditating in the Word of God. You see,
so that makes the Word of God a cure-all for all sickness; it’s a
cure-all for all disease and any ailment (glory to God) known and
unknown to man.
He’s speaking to night. This is a night that God is saying that He
wants to heal your spirit. He wants to heal your soul. And He
wants to heal your body. I wish I had a praying church tonight.
Your soul is so important. In the twenty-third psalm David said,
“He restores my soul.” A lot of us in here tonight need our souls
restored. We’re in a place of dryness, because of the things that
are going on in our lives. We’re in a place (glory to God) tonight
where we’re saying to ourselves, “If I don’t get a breakthrough, I
don’t know if I can make it; I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
And the Word of God is here for you tonight. He wants to restore
your soul. He wants to bring you into green pastures. He wants
your thinking to be prosperous. He wants . . . Oh, my God. I
know I’m talking to somebody in the house.
Do you notice how things seem to be try with us spiritually most of
the time when our finances are dry? We’ll find everything wrong
with the word that’s going on and going forth in the earth. But as
soon as the finances begin to run, all of a sudden that dry place
that we were once in becomes wet.
How can a natural thing bless me spiritually? A natural thing
cannot bless me spiritually. It can bless my flesh, but it can’t
bless my spirit. Oh, you don’t want to say amen on that.
You see, God is speaking to us, because He wants us to change
our mind set. He wants us to change our thinking. He wants us
to have the joy of the Lord before the blessing gets there.
Your blessing and your healing is already manifested in the Word.
And therefore, when I take the Word of God in and I believe the
Word, no matter what’s going on around me, it’s going to cause
me to prosper and be in health. Glory to God.
He’s speaking to us. The church of God has been dry, because
the finances have been dry. But let that check come in the mail.
I’ll be a different person. I’ll be like somebody you’ve never seen
before. If you want to hide your money, you can’t hide it, because
you’re so predictable once you get it. Oh, it’s tight, but it’s right.
You’ve got to allow your soul to prosper, no matter what state
you’re in. Paul said, “I’ve learned that no matter what state I’m in
therewith to be content.” Content. In other words, he was saying,
“I’m satisfied with Jesus. I’m satisfied with Jesus. I’m satisfied
with Jesus.” Can anybody say that though all hell is breaking
loose around them, that they’re satisfied with Jesus?
Our soul has got to prosper. Our spirit has got to be rich, not
because He blessed me with carnal things. Oh, I felt the
Anointing of God on that thing.
He’s blessed us, the Bible says, with spiritual blessing, all spiritual
blessings in heavenly places. It doesn’t matter about what’s going
on in the natural. It’s all about what’s going on in the Spirit and in
my spirit.
He’s trying to speak to us tonight, because we’re in a place where
we’re waiting on something to happen, but the Word of God in you
spoken out your mouth will cause things to happen.
He restoreth my soul. The oppression of the soul controls every
part of you. You’ve got to be real with yourself tonight. Because I
said it many times, we hide behind a “hallelujah” and an “amen.”
But Satan has us oppressed.
We speak about our people as a race being oppressed. But
we’ve got to start speaking about the body of Christ and how
we’re being oppressed. But the thing is we allow ourselves to be
oppressed. You see, when you’re dealing with race and there’s
another race that may be in control, sometimes they have that
power over other races. But the only way we can be oppressed,
because we have power, is to allow ourselves to be oppressed.
Do you understand that?
Where is your soul tonight? What position is your soul in? Is your
soul all dried up? He said He will restore your soul. You’re asking
Him for the natural things, but you need to be asking Him to
restore your soul. Keep your soul healthy. Keep your spirit man
healthy. God is speaking to some people in this place. He’s
almost at the point where He’s calling you by Name.
The Bible says in Psalm 107, verse 20 that He sent His Word and
He healed them and delivered them of all their destruction.
Because God sent a man named Moses to tell Pharaoh to let his
people go. And God sent His Son, Jesus, and told that old devil
to let His people go.
Your deliverance is in your mouth. Your deliverance is in your
conversation. It’s in your praise. It’s in your worship. That’s
where your deliverance is. Your deliverance is not necessarily in
me laying hands on you and prophesying to you. You have the
power within you to deliver yourself, for he said, “Physician, heal
thyself.”
Now, where’s your soul? I’m the type of person that I cannot
allow myself to be oppressed and depressed. I can’t. Because
it’ll kill me. I don’t care what I go through, what situation arises in
my life, I cannot afford to stay in that place. I’ve been free for too
long. I’ve understood my liberty for too long, in Christ.
How can we allow the devil to continue to beat on us. How? We
can’t do it. We can’t do it any longer. We cannot do it any longer.
I’m not talking about things tonight. I’m talking about your soul.
I’m talking about your mind. I’m talking about it being renewed.
I’m talking about it staying in a place of freedom, and not being
bound up, because of situations and circumstances. Talking to
us. I’m talking to us. I’m talking to us.
In First Peter two and twenty-four it said that we were healed,
meaning that it’s already been done. It’s already been done.
Your healing has already taken place, but it’s up to you to receive
it. You’ve got to understand that the devil is a liar and the father
of lies. So when he puts a sickness or disease on you, you have
the power to speak the Word of God and command him to take
his hands off of God’s property.
This is the season that your joy’s going to return. Yes. This is the
season where your joy is going to return to you. It’s not going to
be based on things. It’s not. It’s not going to be based on your
new job. It’s not going to be based on your raise. But it’s going to
be based on your relationship with Jesus Christ.
In Acts ten and seventy-eight it said that Jesus went about doing
good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil. He didn’t
heal some, but He healed all.
In Isaiah fifty-three and verse seven it says that He was
oppressed and He was afflicted. That’s why He could be
oppressed for us. He was oppressed for you already. He was
oppressed for you. He went through hardship for us already.
Believe this.
So now as God is speaking to you tonight, He wants to turn that
frown around. Because there are some frowns that have been in
here, not just all night, not just all week, but for months. Because
your soul is not prospering. It’s not prospering because you’re not
allowing it to prosper, because you’re focused on something other
than God. Redirect your focus. Redirect your focus tonight.
Take your eyes off of everything else and redirect your focus.
Redirect your focus on Him. Put your eyes on Him tonight. Don’t
let this word pass you by, because He’s speaking. He’s speaking
to you. He wants to restore your soul. He wants to renew your
mind. This is what He desires to do. Now the question is will you
let Him? Will you allow the Word to do what it was meant to do?
Will you allow it?
Lift your hands to Him tonight. I want you to give Him everything
right now. I want you to give Him absolutely everything.
Everything. Your heart, your soul, your mind, your job, your
relationships. Give it to Him. Ask Him to restore your soul.
Thank You, Jesus. Yes, yes. Thank You, Jesus.
