If you would, turn with me in your Bibles to the book of
Deuteronomy chapter twenty-eight. The book of
Deuteronomy chapter twenty-eight. And when you reach the
book of Deuteronomy chapter twenty-eight, please stand for
the reading of God’s Word. And also please say amen. Glory
to God. Deuteronomy chapter twenty-eight. We will be
looking at verses one through verse six. Verse one through
verse six.
1. And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently
unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all
his commandments which I command thee this day, that the
LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the
earth:
2. And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake
thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy
God.
3. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be
in the field.
4. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy
ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine,
and the flocks of thy sheep.
5. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
6. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed
shalt thou be when thou goest out.
Let us pray.
Most holy and gracious heavenly Father, we thank You for
who You are and for what You do. Master, hide Your son
behind the cross, that Your people would see You and not me.
Dear Lord, as I decrease I truly ask that You would increase.
And finally, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of
heart be acceptable in Thy sight, oh Lord, my strength and my
Redeemer. In Jesus’ holy and blessed Name.
And the people of God said amen. You may be seated in the
house of God today.
When God says He will bless us, what is He saying to us?
God is saying that He’s going to do something supernatural to
produce more than what our natural could ever produce.
You see, in this world we are the Christians. We are the
anointed ones and His anointing, the little anointed ones and
His anointed. And the world needs to see something different
about us.
They can’t just look at us as we begin and continue to labor
(glory to God) on our jobs. And we are the same as they are.
They need to start seeing something a little different about us.
The prosperity that they have should be the prosperity that we
have.
God is looking to take our natural and turn it into something
supernatural. He’s looking to breathe on what you and I have,
to cause it to increase. He’s saying to us, “I’m going to
multiply what you have by My divine intervention.”
You see, I don’t know about you, but I when I try to do things
on my own, it can only go so far. There are limitations to
what I’m able to do. But when I ask my God to take a hold of
my little bit.
It may start out with humble beginnings. But baby, by the
time it’s through, it’ll be succeeding abundantly, more than I
could ever ask or think. Divine intervention is what we need.
You see, the world looks at the church. And the world says,
“Why do I want to be like you?” Oh, you don’t want to talk
to me. The world looks at us and says, “What I have seems to
be more than what you have.”
But see, if we would begin to follow the principles of God,
then what we have even in the natural would be more than
what they have in the natural.
We’ve already got more than what they got in the Spirit.
Because the Bible said in Ephesians, “I bless you with
spiritual blessings.” But I don’t know about you. But I
(hallelujah) don’t want to just be able to raise the dead. I
want to be able to have the money to put a roof on the place
if... Oh, you better talk to me.
You see, many churches, they’re so full of the Spirit of God.
They’re so full of the Anointing. They could lay hands on the
sick and they recover. True Vine. They can prophesy into
somebody’s life and it can come to pass. True Vine. But too
many churches have so much spiritual power, but they don’t
have the natural resources. Who am I preaching to today?
Divine intervention. He said, “Everywhere you go you will
be blessed.”
Don’t, don’t... Pay attention and listen. Listen, listen, listen.
Don’t be distracted today. Because we need to get this.
You see, I got all of these gifts in me. And I can do all of
these spiritual things. But when the world looks at me,
they’re still saying, “I still got more than what you got.” I
need my supernatural and I need my natural.
But He said to them, “In order for you to have that natural,”
He said, “You got to be obedient to Me.” He said, “You got
to walk in obedience to Me.” He said, “If you’re obedient to
Me, I won’t withhold anything from you.” The Bible says no
good thing will He withold from them that walk uprightly.
We got to be able to put the roof on if it got a leak. Come on.
Talk to me today. (Tongues)...ain’t going to put the roof on.
Come on. Talk to me. Talk to me today. We need some
natural.
See, I can’t be a person that bounces from meeting to
meeting, all in my Christian life, and still don’t have nothing.
Oh, my God. I came out of a meeting. And I’m in the
meeting. I’m on fire. But let a week or two or month go by.
What I don’t have in the natural is going to pull all that fire
out of me.
He told them, He said, “I want to give you something. But
you got to be obedient.” He said, “Observe to do.” Look at
your neighbor and say, “Observe to do.” You ain’t saying it
like you mean it. Observe to do all of these commandments.
And the blessing of the Lord, according to Proverbs ten and
twenty-two that maketh rich, He will add no sorrow to it.
He wants to bless our natural. It’s time for us as believers to
raise the standard. It’s time to raise the standard.
“What do you mean, pastor?” See, unless I learn how to
prove God... Isn’t that what He said, “Prove me, and see if I
won’t”? But see, you got to do something to prove Him. Oh,
you fixing to go somewhere we don’t want to talk about,
pastor. See, I’ve got to prove Him by digging in my
pocketbook sometimes. That’s what He said. I didn’t say it.
He said it. Don’t get mad with me. Get mad with Him.
The blessing has been there for years. But it takes us so long
to be obedient. If I would just start to be obedient and stay
consistent, the Bible says in Hebrews eleven six that He’s a
rewarder of what? He’s a rewarder of the diligent. Diligent is
consistent. Not sometimes, but all the time. Not when I have
it, but when I don’t have it.
Obedience brings the blessing. We must have the blessing of
God in our lives. We have to for the world to know that there
is a Christ.
The Bible says it’s easier for a camel to pass through an eye
of a needle than for a rich man to be saved. If we’re going to
reach those that are rich, then we have got to show some
prosperity. The Gospel is just not for the poor. It’s for
everybody.
When we look at Jesus... Go with me to Matthew chapter
fourteen. Are you with me today?
“How can I pay my tithes and offerings, when they turning off
my telephone?” You better pay it anyway. Because that’s the
way you going to get it back on.
In Matthew chapter fourteen, look at verse fifteen. It said,
15. And when it was evening, his disciples came to him,
saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send
the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and
buy themselves victuals.
16. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye
them to eat.
Wait a minute, Jesus. What don’t You understand? We just
said this is a desert. What are we going to give them to eat in
a desert? Look at verse seventeen.
17. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and
two fishes.
18. He said, Bring them hither to me.
Sounds like there’s going to be divine intervention.
You see, when you look in the natural, you may only see
limitations. But the Bible said in Matthew twenty-seven that
God can make the impossible possible. He said, “Bring them
hither to me.”
19. And he commanded the multitude to sit down...
Sometimes you got to take authority. Some folks don’t want
you to take authority. But sometimes you got to tell them to
sit down somewhere, because you’re hindering the move of
God. Hello, somebody.
19. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the
grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and
looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the
loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
Listen. When there was not enough, He looked up to heaven
and blessed it. You see, when you don’t have enough, you
need to look up to heaven and give thanks anyhow.
I have sat down to meals where in my natural mind I knew it
wasn’t going to be enough. But by the time I got through, my
taste buds and my mind was saying, “More, more, more.”
But my stomach was saying, “You can’t hold no more.”
See, we allow these five natural senses to get in the way. But
He break it and worked a miracle. He blessed it. Look at
verse fifteen.
15. And when it was evening, his disciples came to him,
saying, This is a desert place...
“Send the multitudes away,” is what they were saying. “Let
them go away and buy themselves food.” But Jesus was
demonstrating the limitless supply of resources in heaven.
See, we limit God. See, we’re in this world but we’re... You
need to listen to this. We’re in this world, but we’re not of
this world. You’re here, but you’re not of here. So therefore
your supply is not limited to here. Your resources are
unlimited, because we serve an unlimited God named El
Shaddai. Jehovah Jireh.
So why do we spend our time fretting over what we don’t
have? Why? When I can bless what I have and cause it to be
more than enough.
Satan loves to make us think the problem is either to small or
too big for us to go to God. But it’s when our backs are
against that wall that God shows up and shows out. Why
does God need to show up and show out? If you’ve got
everything in order all the time... He wants room for Himself
to fit in the picture.
So your back may be against the wall this morning. But let
me tell you something. You’re ripe for a miracle. It would be
so absurd for your back to be against the wall with nowhere to
go, pent up, locked down, and you just start rejoicing.
Have you ever heard somebody pray, “Lord, I’m glad in this
position”? It goes against the grain, doesn’t it? But see, He
goes past this natural mind. The Bible says His ways are
unsearchable. So whatever position you’re in of lack, praise
God and worship Him right where you are.
See, we serve a strategic God. The Bible says the Lord is a
man of war, and the Lord is His Name. So we throw the devil
off balance when he thinks we’re pinned down, and we start
lifting up holy hands without wrath and doubting anyhow.
We begin to ambush him. And we’ll cause our enemy to
scatter.
See, he thinks he’s crazier than you are. But you got to be
crazier than who he is. Paul said what? I’m a fool for
Christ’s sake.
Somebody needs to hear this today. Because you’re going by
your natural. And it’s causing you to be emotionally
depressed and down, and can’t find your way. The devil
think he got you. But today is your day to prove him wrong.
Prove him wrong today. Let him know that your God has the
upper hand.
What problem is just the right size for God to handle? Any
problem that you have. It’s just the right size. It’s just the
right size. All we have to do is learn how to give it to Him.
When Abraham met with the Lord... Go with me to Genesis
chapter eighteen. Verse ten through verse fourteen.
“Why you preaching this today?” Because somebody needs
to hear it.
In Genesis eighteen, verse ten through verse fourteen it says,
10. And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to
the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And
Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
11. Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in
age;
In other words, this was impossible.
11. ...and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of
women.
In other words, it was too late for her to have a baby
physically according to the natural.
12. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I
am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
13. And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah
laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?
14. Is any thing too hard for the LORD? (glory to God) At
the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the
time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
She was like us, wasn’t she? She was reluctant to claim the
blessing.
The Bible said in Second Chronicles twenty and twenty,
“Believe in the Lord your God. So shall ye be established.
Believe His prophets, and so shall ye prosper.”
God may speak something to you. But instead of grabbing
hold of it, we reach forth with uncertainty. But see, when
God tells you something, you and I need to claim it and say,
“Lord, it’s mine.”
We hope for things. And there’s nothing wrong with hope.
But hope is not faith. Hope and faith have got to travel
together. When we believe God for what He says, God will
bless us.
Over in chapter twenty-two, after they had received the
promise of their son Isaac... Listen. Chapter twenty-two.
The Bible said in verse one that God tested Abraham.
You see, just because you got part one of the blessing, we like
to stop right there and starts shouting. Hallelujah. But that’s
just the beginning of the blessing. See, to receive the rest of
the blessing, you and I have to receive a test.
See, a lot of times, you know, it’s been so long before that...
Listen. That promise came to pass. It was twenty-five years
before that promise of his son came to pass. And by the time
that child Isaac got there, I’m sure that Abraham loved him
with everything that was in him.
But the Bible said that God tested Abraham. He wants to see
if you’re going to love that blessing more than you love your
God. So He began to talk to Abraham. And told him to take
his son up to the mountain and sacrifice him to him.
You see, when you haven’t had a desire for such a long time,
it’s hard to give it up, isn’t it? Oh, you ain’t never been there.
See, let me tell you this. See, a... Most of us haven’t had
much money. So when we get it, it’s hard to let go of it. We
be playing with God like this. And God says, “Give Me that
money.”
But Isaac, he was even of the age where he could ask his
father, “Where are we going? And not only where are we
going, but when we get there, where is the sacrifice?” So God
allowed it to be doubly hard on him. Because when you got
something speaking up at you when you trying to lay it down
and kill it, compassion really kicks in, doesn’t it?
So he laid him down. And Isaac said, “Where’s the
sacrifice?”
And Abraham said, “God will provide Himself a ram or a
lamb.” And sure enough there was a ram caught by his horns
in the bush.
But then God went on to tell Abraham after he was obedient,
He said, “I’m really going to bless you now.” He said, “With
blessings I will bless thee.”
You see, that part one of your blessing, He wants you to us
that to get the rest of the blessing. Hello, somebody. See,
your blessing is not just here. But your blessing is all the way
over here. But see, we have a habit of stopping right here,
don’t we? I’ve got what I wanted when I asked God for it.
God’s trying to do something else for you.
So saints of God, don’t just stop right here because you gave
ten dollars, and you got fifty back. Hello, somebody. Or
should I say down to one... You gave a dollar and got ten.
Everybody can’t laugh at that, can they?
But when you really give it from the heart... See, don’t
confuse what I’m saying. Because if that’s all you got, then
that’s all you got. You remember the widow mite right?
Don’t confuse what I’m saying and get up tight about it. But
I’m saying to you, it’s rendered to Caesar what’s Caesar’s.
But give God what’s God’s.
We hinder our own blessings. And we come to the house of
God. And we’re all upset a lot of times. And then, you know,
the first question I can ask is, a lot of times... Not all cases.
But a lot of times I can say, “Well, do you pay your tithes and
do you give offerings?”
And immediately the head will go down. “No, but...”
There’s always that “but” in there.
He wants to add some super to our natural. And your blessing
doesn’t just have one part to it. There are several parts to
your blessing. There’s going to be a test.
I remember times (glory to God) even when I was in school.
I’m still in school now. I would get my money for school.
And one time I got so blessed. I got a check in the mail from
my school. I said, “Lord, I’m scared.” Didn’t want to call
financial aid, but fear told me, “You better find out what this
all about.”
Called up financial aid. And I finally got myself to say, “I got
this check in the mail.” Knowing the whole time. (Tongues.)
“Thank You, it’s mine, Lord. It’s mine.”
And they looked it up on the computer. Gave my social
security number. Said, “Oh, you got that check because thus
and so and thus and so.”
I don’t want to sound like, you know, I’m trying to be all that.
Because I ain’t. So I ain’t going to say. But, “You got this
check because of thus and so and thus and so.”
And I was like, “Glory to God.” Said, “Thank You, Jesus.”
And when I look back at my tithes, and I look back at my
offerings, I can say, “Lord, I paid my tithes every week.” Oh,
you can check back there if you want to. And I give an
offering every service, just about every service now. Come
on. Talk to me.
And even when I just come up here to pray during the day by
myself, I put an offering. There sometimes be two or three
with mine in there. I put an offering up in there. Why?
Because I’m proving God. You said it, and I believe it. And
I shall receive it.
You say, “All I got is about two or three pennies.” Put them
in the basket anyway. God is looking at your heart.
I’m not a preacher that’s trying to get rich off of nobody. Let
me tell you something. I want you to get what belongs to
you. But it’s through obedience. It’s through obedience.
You know, a lot of preachers, once they get their new
building and stuff, because they got it by tithes and offerings,
they start talking about the other little churches that has the
chicken dinners and all this stuff. I don’t knock them. They
got it the best way they could. Oh, you better bless God in
this house.
You can’t put God in a box. He can come this way. He can
come that way. And the whole time they were feeding folks
chicken, folks were blessed. Why? Because Jesus going to
feed the Spirit and the flesh. It’s Scriptural, isn’t it?
Saints of God, this message is for us today. I remember I told
people it was the season to sow, and there were blessings all
over the house. I’m telling you again, this is the season to
sow.
And let me tell you something. God has given me an
anointing where I can touch and agree. Isn’t that right,
brother? Isn’t that right sister? And the money came almost
immediately, didn’t it? Oh, you better bless God.
God wants to bless His people. But He wants us to know that
it is Him that gives us the power to obtain wealth. That’s
what He said in His Word in Deuteronomy eight. He said it’s
the Lord that gives you power to obtain wealth.
He even said, “I led you out in this wilderness. And I even
caused you to hunger.” He will cause you to be hungry. And
I’m not just talking about food. But the Bible said He caused
them to hunger and then gave them manna.
He will cause you to hunger so that you can cry out after Him.
He will allow there to be a little lack there. Hello, somebody.
Because He know a lot of us won’t cry nothing unless we
broke. “I’m broke, Jesus. Help me.” Oh, you don’t want to
laugh no more.
Saints of God, know this. This is the season to sow. Every
now and then I tell you. I’m not a preacher that preach money
every Sunday or Tuesday or Friday. I don’t do that. But
when it’s in my spirit to tell you, I tell you. This is the season
to sow. This is the season to sow. This is the season to sow.
It’s the season. It’s the season.
But see, a smart person in this season to sow will keep the ball
rolling, won’t they? They won’t say, “Oh, season’s over.
Ain’t giving no more. Pocketbook’s closed. Bank account
closed. Got to a closed sign on the door.” You’ll keep on and
allow the blessings to continue to flow to you, because they
will.
It may not look right in the natural, but we’re not moving by
the natural. We’re moving by the supernatural. We’re
moving by the supernatural.
We need divine intervention. That’s what we need. We need
God to breathe life into our natural resources and cause them
to explode. Not just so that we can gloat, but that the world
out there can see what our God has done. And they can say,
“Well, how’d you get that?”
“I went to church.”
“Well, that sounds weird. You went to church. What
happened? The preacher gave...”
“Preacher ain’t gave me nothing. God gave it to me. God
gave it to me. God gave it to me. And I’m so glad about it.
God gave it to me.”
You remember the man of God... And we’re just about to
close. The king wanted to bless him, didn’t he? He said, “I
won’t receive anything from you. Because then you’ll say it
was your hand that prospered me, when I know it’s the Lord
that’s going to prosper me.”
So saints of God, today know that you have heard the word of
the Lord. And observe to do.
Give God a handclap of praise.
