Sight's God's Eyes

If you would, please turn in your Bibles with me to the book of Zechariah chapter four. Please stand for the reading of the Word tonight. Zechariah chapter four. We going to look at Zechariah chapter four. We’re going to read verse one through verse ten. Zechariah chapter four, verse one through verse ten. And when you reach Zechariah, please signify by saying amen.

1. And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,

2. And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:

3. And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.

4. So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?

5. Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

6. Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

7. Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

8. Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

9. The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

10. For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

Let us pray.

Most holy and gracious heavenly Father, we thank You for who You are and for what You do. Dear Lord, hide Your son behind the cross, that Your people would see You and not me. And Dear Lord, as I decrease, I ask that You would increase. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer. In Jesus’ holy and blessed Name.

And the people of God said amen. You may be seated in the house of God tonight.

Eventually God gave Zechariah a series of visions, in part to encourage the rebuilding of the temple.

In the fifth vision that Zechariah had, he saw a golden lamp stand, which was the light inside of the temple, which by the bowl of oil suspended above it. As oil continuously flowed from the bowl into the lamp stand, the light continually shined in the darkness.

An angel explained the meaning to the perplexed Zechariah. The oil was a symbol of the Holy Spirit.

As the people relied on their own strength, the temple would not be completed. But when they began to get the revelation that I can’t do anything without Him, that I’m nothing without Him, that I need Him every day, every minute, every hour, every second... My God, my God. They began to get the understanding, not by might, nor by power. “But by My Spirit,” saith the Lord of hosts.

Although rebuilding the temple seemed like moving a gigantic mountain, when we look in verse seven (glory to God), God was speaking. He said, “Who art thou, oh great mountain?”

In other words, “Mountain, I don’t care how big you are. You’re going to have go get out of My way.” But it won’t be by my power. It’ll be by the power of the Spirit of God. And the work would be finished.

When we look at verse ten, this is what really intrigued me. It said,

10. For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

The eyes of the Lord. There was seven lights, seven lights on top of the lamp stand, signifying that they were the eyes of the Lord. God has given us a natural pair of eyes to see with. But many of us have got to understand that God wants to give us a set of spiritual eyes to see with.

When we look at the book of Webster, it defines the eyes as the organs of sight, the organs of seeing, the ability to recognize, the ability to watch, the ability to glance. In other words, the ability to be able to see.

But these natural eyes, they give us limitations. You see, God gave spiritual eyes in the church. He said, “These seven are the eyes of the Lord.” Because though we are limited in our sight, God is infinite in His sight. He sees all, knows all. Oh, my God. You don’t hear me tonight. He is going to make sure that that thing that was started was finished.

Whenever God gives you a word, He’s going to make sure that thing that He started in your life is completed. Give God a handclap of praise tonight.

You see, His eyes were there to watch over what was going on. You see, the Lord’s eyes are in the house of God. Because He’s always surrounded by eyes.

The book of Ezekiel said He was surrounded by eyes. You see, God uses eyes because He’s got to be able to see all the way around Him. You don’t hear me tonight. God will give us eyes to see. Because He doesn’t want us to be left in the dark. He wants you and I to be able to see all the way around us.

The seven eyes were the eyes of the Lord in the temple. He wanted to make sure that our human limitations didn’t interrupt His plan.

You see, we have limitations. Because we can only see so far. Oh, you don’t hear me. You see, we can only a lot of times see what’s in front of us. And we can’t even see that far in front of us. Do you hear what I’m saying?

You see, but if I begin to get spiritual perception... Look at your neighbor and say, “Spiritual perception.” Then I will be able to see the way God sees.

You see, the devil has no power when I can begin to see things the way God sees it. He’s only got power when I’m looking through my limited sight.

He’s always looking. He’s always seeing. He’s looking through. He’s not looking on.

You see, we’ve got to come to the point where we can look through. You see, when you can look through a thing, you don’t have to worry about what it look like on the outside. Glory to God. You have penetrated it. And therefore you know what it’s really all about. And if it’s good, amen. If it’s bad, amen. Because it cannot harm me.

The seven eyes were in the house. God told them that He was going to do it. You see, when God does a thing it don’t matter what man said. You don’t hear me. Oh, I feel Jesus up in here tonight.

You see, when God begins to do a work, you see, though that thing that we see may look all marred... You don’t hear me tonight. We look at it and say it can’t be good for nothing. God done saw the end from the beginning. He said, “Yeah, you a drug addict.” You don’t hear me. “Now. But I see what you’re going to be in the end result.” You don’t want to talk to me tonight.

But when we take on the eyes of the Lord, I can look at somebody and say, “Baby, you come on here. Because I’m going to love you with the love of God, no matter what’s going on in your life. I done seen your end. And it’s better than your beginning.” My God. Who am I preaching to in this house tonight?

In the book of Ephesians chapter one and verse eighteen, the apostle said that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened.

You see, in order to get understanding, there’s got to be a light that goes on. You see, the Bible says in the book of Proverbs, with all of your getting, you need to get understanding.

You see, it’s one thing to have knowledge. It’s one thing to have wisdom. But it’s another thing to have understanding. Because no matter what it looks like... You don’t hear me tonight. I understand that in the end we going to win. You better give God some glory in this house tonight.

Turn in your Bibles with me. I don’t know about you, but I’m cranking it up a notch. I done been before my Father’s throne. I ain’t got time (hallelujah) to stay down with the buzzards. I got to get up and fly with the eagles, somebody. I know what He’s called me to. And I know with whom I have to do.

I’m not going to let the devil clip my wings. Because a bird can’t fly without his wings. See, if you stay down with buzzards, you going to wind up messing yourself up. You don’t hear me tonight.

There were eyes in the house. And He said, “I know that what I said seems like it’s not going to happen. But you don’t understand. I got my eyes on the devil.” You don’t hear me. You don’t understand that I already know what he’s trying to do. But I done blocked it already.”

No weapon formed against you is going to prosper. And every tongue that rise against you in judgment shall be condemned and proven to be in the wrong. It may form, but it’s not going to prosper.

We’ve got to get our eyes open. See, we keep our eyes down here. But the Bible said look up, for your redemption draweth nigh. He didn’t say keep your eyes on the ground, so you can walk in mess. You don’t hear me tonight. My God. He said look to the hills.

He’s always talking about keeping your eyes up. Because if you keep your eyes up, you going to keep your eyes clean. It’s when your eyes start coming down. That’s when your eyes start getting dirty.

Turn with me in your Bibles to the book of Second Kings. See, a lot of times it’ll take a prophet to open up your eyes, if you want them open. But if you stuck in your way... You don’t hear me tonight. Then your eyes ain’t going to be open. I feel the Holy Ghost up in here. He’s going to have His way, ain’t He?

The book of Second Kings, chapter six. It’s all about Jesus and the mission that He has called us to. Second Kings chapter six. Look at verse fifteen.

15. And when the servant of the man...

Wait a minute. You mean the man of God had servants? Yeah, he did. Oh, you don’t want to be a servant, do you?

15. And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. (The enemy was all around them.) And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

16. And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

You see, you think that they that be with them are more than they that be with you. But see, you’re sadly mistaken. You see, because if God be for you, who in the world can be against you? You don’t hear me tonight.

He said, “Fear not.” In verse seventeen it said,

17. And Elisha prayed...

How many of you know that a prophet can pray that your eyes are opened? It said,

17. And Elisha prayed and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

You see, you think you’re all by yourself. But those that be around you... You don’t want to talk to me tonight. ..are more than those that think they got your by the heal and got you by the neck. Glory to God. They’re going to have to loose you and let you go.

He said, “Lord, open up his eyes. Because he needs to see this.”

You see, when you stand in the office of a prophet, you can pray that the Lord will open up peoples’ eyes, that they would be able to see. You see, because some of us get what is called tunnel vision. Oh, you don’t hear me tonight. You see, it’s dark in the tunnel, isn’t it? You don’t hear me. Ain’t not light up in that tunnel. It’s dark in there.

You’re supposed to be the light in that tunnel, so that you may not only see what’s in front of you. You can see what’s on the sides of you. And if you turn around, you can see what’s behind you.

He said, “Lord...” See, because Elisha wasn’t even worried about it. I can see Elisha now leaning against the side of the mountain. And I can see the servant panicking, saying, “What in the world are we going to do?”

You see, a lot of people don’t understand why I don’t panic. You see, I my cry sometime. You don’t hear me. But in the midst of my crying, there are groanings on the inside of me that cannot be uttered. There are prayers that are going up. I’m wailing before the Lord. And the Lord sees my tears. And He hears the prayers that I’m... Oh, my God.

He said, “Lord, open his eyes. Because if You open up his eyes, he’s going to get understanding.”

“That the eyes of your understanding might be enlightened.” See, without understanding, for a word that a lot of people don’t like, I become in a place of ignorance. You see, and if I am ignorant about the things of God, then I’m going to mess up the things of God.

It’s not until I begin to get an understanding of how God moves and how God operates, and the character of God. That’s when I will truly be able to be an effective witness in the body of Christ.

But if I don’t truly have an understanding of the character of my Father, then I will not be effective in the Kingdom of God. If my eyes are not open to what His vision is... He said that all men might be saved and come into the knowledge of... All men, not some men. All men. That’s His vision, that all men would be saved, that none would perish.

You see, we come to the house of God to get our praise on and to get fed. But it’s not just to get our praise on and to get fed. Because what I intake I need to learn how to regurgitate. I can’t sit there and pout and scream and kick because he say, she say. And they bother me. And he bother me. And he looking at me. And she looking. You don’t hear me tonight. The devil is a lie.

I get understanding when I learn about His character. See, a lot of times we want to be real deep. The Bible says the deep calleth unto the deep. So when I begin to realize that my Father is real deep, and in the midst of that He’s calling me...

Because I’m trying to be more like Him. I’m crucified with Christ. Nevertheless I live, not I, but Christ that lives in me. I’ve died to myself. I’ve died to my flesh. And I’m looking into the deep. And I don’t see me no more. All I see is Him. I don’t see me any more. Because I’ve figured it out. I’ve got an understanding that it’s not about me. Oh, you don’t want to hear me tonight. My God, my God.

He said, “Lord, please open up his eyes.” And not only did God open up his eyes. Look at verse eighteen. It said,

18. And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. (He took their eyesight from them.) And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

See, you don’t understand the prophetic ministry. You don’t understand what the responsibility is of a prophet. You see, there’s certain levels of an anointing that prophets begin to flow in as they begin to mature. If you get a real mature prophet, they will be able to operate in that same gift that Elisha operated in. Because it’s the mantle of Elisha.

Do you remember when them children were making fun of him? He made she bears... You better watch who you messing with. He said, “Touch not my anointed and do,” (oh, my God) “My prophets no harm.”

David had the revelation. He even said when Saul was after him trying to kill him, he said, “I will not touch the Lord’s anointed.” He had understanding. His eyes were open. And he was able to see.

He wants our eyes to be open. See, when your eyes are open, you will know who the real enemy is. See, he prayed. He said, “Lord, smite this people with blindness.”

You see, when you really begin to get into intercession, and you’re a real prayer warrior, you’ll have the ability to pray and ask the Lord to smite all these demons with blindness, so that they would not be able to see you. My God. You don’t hear me tonight. You’ll be able to walk in the midst of them. And they’ll be trying to feel for you. And they won’t be able to touch... My God. You better bless God in this house.

He said, “Smite them. Smite them with blindness.” Ask the Lord to smite, once you know who the enemy really is... Because see, some folk want Him to smite folk with blindness. But we ain’t under that covenant no more, are we? We under a new covenant where He said, love your enemies. You don’t hear me. Pray for them that despitefully use you.

That’s why you got to ask to smite the eyes of your enemy, Satan, your adversary, and all of his evil hosts that are trying to form weapons against you.

You see, many of us, when we come to a prophetic ministry where the gift of sight is in operate... God brought you here for a purpose. You see, somewhere... If you are called to ministry, somewhere in your life whatever that pastor has on his life is going to flow into your life.

But see, we’ve got to get the understanding (There that word is again) that it’s God that will give you that gift. And you can’t take that gift and say, “I got that gift,” if God ain’t gave it to you yet.

But see, we all have eyes to see. But see, there’s a gift of sight. And then there’s sight by faith. You see, if I get a real understanding, I will realize I can see through the eyes of faith.

You see, you don’t always have to see something in the Spirit. You can see through the eyes of faith, because now faith is the substance of things hoped for the, evidence of things what? Not seen. But yet faith has eyes. Because faith has already seen it. Oh, you don’t want to talk to me.

You already got eyes. But now it’s time to increase your faith, so that you can see it the way God sees it. See, if God wants to give you the gift of sight, He’ll give it to you. But if you’re not one that He gives it to, know that you got sight anyway. Because you’re walking by faith.

And the Scripture says we walk by faith and not by sight. Not by natural sight. But we walk by faith. That means with the eyes of faith I can see my way in the darkness. I don’t have to worry, because I trust in Him. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me.

Psalm ninety-one says there shall no evil befall me. Why? Because I see through the eyes of faith. I’m not one to stand here and try to act like I’m all of that because I can see in the Spirit. You don’t hear me. See, when you can see in the Spirit, a lot of people think that because you can see in the Spirit that your way should be easier.

Let me tell you something. When He trusts you with a gift like that, it’s going to seem like your way is a little bit harder. Because He’s going to make sure that you don’t try to rely on that gift, and you rely on Him.

We have eyes to see. But we got to understand that we have eyes to see.

The Bible... Go with me to Genesis chapter three. The Bible talks about eyes being opened. See, if I don’t watch it, my eyes can be opened in a way that God has not designed for them to be opened. Do you hear what I’m saying?

The book of Genesis chapter three. When you get there, say amen. In chapter three. Let’s look at verse five. Just the devil talking to her.

5. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

7. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew (what they should have not known) that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

God wants to open our eyes to the things that He wants us to see. You see, but if I want to see bad enough, I can do what the devil tells me to see. You don’t hear me. You see, that’s why we got psychics and palm readers. Because they want to see. But they don’t want God to give them sight. They want to see from the dark side. There’s power on the dark side.

They don’t want to labor. They don’t want to sacrifice. They don’t want to read the Word of God. They don’t want to go before Him. They don’t want to live in righteousness. They don’t want to live in holiness. They want to... Oh, my God. They want to do it the easy way. But the easy way will take them straight to hell.

Satan opened. He gave them the recipe to have their eyes open. He said, “If you disobey God, then your eyes are going to come open.”

If we continue to disobey God, our eyes will come open. But they’ll come open to evil and deception and destruction. But if I allow God to open up my eyes, He will open up my eyes to His goodness, to His mercy, to His love, His kindness.

In the book of First John, chapter two and verse sixteen, it talks about the lusts of the eyes. In other words, cravings of accumulating things, have, bowing to the god of materialism.

When we look in the book of Revelations chapter three and verse eighteen, God was talking to the church at Laodicea. He began to tell them, He said, “You need some eye salve for your eyes.”

You see, what happened was, Laodicea, they were famous for their medicine that they put on peoples’ eyes. And it cured them of a lot of eye problems. But God was telling them, “You don’t know that you’re really blind. You need to take the medicine that I give you and put them on your eyes, so that you can begin to see the way I see.” Oh, you don’t hear me tonight.

You see, the eye salve that we need is the Word of God. And as we continue to put the word of God on these eyelids, we will be healed of all sin and destruction.

Job said, “My eyes have not even looked on a damsel.” You’ve got to keep these eyes pure.

You see, materialism ain’t nothing, is it? Oh, you think it is. I want to hear everybody say, “No, it’s not.” I know that’s right.

But He was telling them, “If you put the medicine that I give you on your eyes, all that you see will be prosperity.” But not the prosperity of man–the prosperity of God. You’ll begin to see not with man’s wisdom, but wisdom that comes from God.

You remember the devil told her, “It will be able to make one wise”? Wise with the things of this world. But I don’t want to be wise with the things of this world. I want to be wise with the things of God. I want my eyes opened, that I might see it the way that He sees it. Is that what you really want? Do you really want that?

See, religion will cause me to see it in a religious way. Tradition will cause me to see it in a traditional way. Do you hear what I’m saying? A pharisee, sadducee spirit will cause me to see it in a pharisee, sadducee way. But when I see it through the eyes of my Savior, I can see it for what it really is. I can see. Look at your neighbor and say, “I can see, because I’m not looking with my own eyes. I’m looking with His eyes.”

You see, when I try to look with my own eyes, I’m in a place of blindness. I’m in a place of limitation. I’m in a place of being god, small G. Do you hear what I’m saying? But when I look through His eyes... Because greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world. I don’t have to worry about being god. Because I got the Word in me. And the Bible said the Word will judge anything. You don’t hear me tonight.

Are your eyes open? We have eyes to see.

Ask the Lord to let you really see. “Lord, let me see.”

When Daniel had to interpret the dream... We almost finished. He said, “He’s the God that reveals secrets.” When he went to prayer, God not only gave him the interpretation. But he gave him the dream itself.

See, when you see through the eyes of God, there will be nothing hidden from you. Nothing hidden from you. You’ll be able to see it for what it really is.

You’ve got a place in your life that you want to see. You want to know what’s to come. But don’t worry about tomorrow. Let tomorrow take care of itself. The Bible tells me that I need to live for today.

You see, in the process I can still save and be diligent like the ant. And I can do what I need to do for when the hard seasons begin to come. But I’m not in this world to try to get myself rich. Do you hear what I’m saying? I’m in this world to prosper the Kingdom of God.

That’s real sight. And that’s understanding.

There were eyes in the church, the seven eyes of the Lord. They were not only inside the church. But it said that they went to and fro throughout the earth.

See, I believe God is looking for a man to stand in the gap and make up the hedge. He looking for somebody that wants to pray. Do you hear what I’m saying? He’s not just looking for lost souls. But He’s looking for somebody that really wants to pray. For He said, “I searched for one.” And he said, “I couldn’t find one nowhere.” He’s searching.

Will you be that one that He finds? Will you be that one that He finds in the midst of all of your warfare and your confusion and doubt and unbelief? Will you say, “Here am I, Lord. I’m the one. I’ll pray. Because I want to see it the way You see it”?

When I read the Word of God and I pray, I can see it the way He sees it. When I’m really in the Word and praying, I can see the way He sees it. And though these weapons form against me, they will not prosper.

Lord, open our eyes, that we might see.

Come on, give God a handclap of praise.
