If you would, turn with me in your Bibles to the book of First
Peter chapter one. First Peter chapter one. And when you
reach First Peter chapter one, please signify by saying amen.
Thank You, my Father. First Peter chapter one. Right after
the book of James. Amen. Beginning with verse eighteen.
18. Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with
corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain
conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb
without blemish and without spot:
20. Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the
world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
21. Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from
the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might
be in God.
Let us pray.
Most holy and gracious heavenly Father, we thank You, Lord
God, for Your Word today. Hide Your son behind the cross,
that Your people would see You and not me. Father, as I
decrease, I ask that You would increase. Let the words of my
mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy
sight, oh Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. In Jesus’
Name, amen.
A couple of months ago we preached on the Blood of Jesus.
And this morning (glory to God) we’re going to preach about
the Blood of Jesus once again. Hallelujah.
There are many things that can speak to us. There are many
things that do speak to us. But I want you to know this
morning that the Blood also speaks to us.
When we examine the Blood of Jesus, it is saying something
to God. It is not only speaking to us. But the Blood of Jesus
is speaking to God. Hallelujah. The Blood of Jesus cries out
to God. And it causes our sins to be covered. And it causes
the penalty of sin to be paid.
We look at our Bibles. There’s evidence that the Blood
speaks to God. In the book of Genesis, here we find two
brothers. We all know the story of Cain and Abel.
Hallelujah. And Cain (hallelujah) didn’t give God what He
wanted. He offered unto God something that was not (glory
to God) pleasing in the sight of the Lord.
But Abel (hallelujah), being obedient to God, offered up a
sacrifice that was a sweet smelling savor in the nostrils of
God.
So as God began to speak, He told Cain that what you have
offered is unacceptable. And Cain got upset about it.
(Tongues.)
And Cain decided one day in the field, as he and his brother
were there, he decided he was going to slew his brother. He
was going to slay his brother. And so Cain slayed his brother.
And what happened is, that blood that he shed, that innocent
blood was all over the ground.
When we look at our Bibles in Genesis chapter four and verse
ten, God asked Cain, he said, “What have you done? The
voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto Me from the ground.”
Let me tell you something. Many times in the body of Christ
we begin to shed our brothers’ and our sister’s blood. And
when God sees it our blood is crying unto Him from the
ground. And it’s crying, “Lord, avenge me of my
adversaries.”
When we look at Cain, he was jealous of his brother. You
see, jealousy will cause us to slay our brothers and our sisters.
You see, we may not slay them in a physical sense. But we’ll
slay them in a spiritual sense. We’ll begin to take our hands
and put our hands to each other. Not only do we put our
hands to each other, but we’ll beat each other (glory to God)
through our conversations that we have.
His blood was crying unto God from the ground. You see,
when you were done wrong, you thought that it was over. But
see, your blood was crying unto God from the ground. You
thought when they said what they said it was all over. You
thought when they did what they did it was all over.
But let me tell you something. Your innocent blood is crying.
And it’s saying, “Lord, avenge me, because vengeance
belongs to You.”
God asked Cain, He said, “What have you done?” It’s clear
from the Scripture that even after Abel was murdered that his
blood still have a voice.
You see, many times when people are put to death in the body
of Christ, their voice, their blood still has a voice. And the
voice is ringing in the ears of God. And God has no choice
but to avenge the innocent blood. The life of the flesh is in
the blood.
Go with me to Hebrews chapter twelve. In Hebrews chapter
twelve and verse twenty-four... Now here is something
powerful. It said,
24. And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the
blood of sprinkling, that speaking better things than that of
Abel.
25. See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they
escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more
shall we not escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh
from heaven:
Not only was Abel’s blood speaking, but Jesus’ Blood speaks.
Abel’s blood cried vengeance, but Jesus’ Blood cried mercy.
Let me tell you something today. When Jesus’ Blood was
shed on Calvary, it was saying, “Lord God, have mercy on
them, because they know not what they do.”
It speaks better things than what Abel’s blood spoke. It’s
speaking of mercy. It’s speaking of grace.
Turn with me to Hebrews nine. In Hebrews chapter nine and
verse twenty-seven, it said,
27. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this
the judgment:
28. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and
unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time
without sin unto salvation.
When we look at (glory to God) the Blood of Jesus, it sits on
the Mercy Seat up in heaven. You see, in the Old Testament,
the great high priest... No, the high priest. Do you hear what
I’m saying? They would have to take the blood of the bulls
and the goats. And they would take it and sprinkle it on the
Mercy Seat, and make an atonement for our sins.
But guess what. Jesus’ Blood is being sprinkled on the Mercy
Seat in heaven. And He’s made an atonement for us forever.
Come on, give God a handclap of praise today.
As a result of the sprinkling, when we look (hallelujah) in the
Old Testament, what happened was, after the priest would
take it into the Holy of Holies... And let me tell you
something, if he didn’t have no blood to sprinkle in the Holy
of Holies, he wasn’t going to come out the Holy of Holies the
way that he went in the Holy of Holies. He had to have a
purpose.
When he went inside of there, he sprinkled that blood. Glory
to God. And then all of the sudden the Shekinah Glory came.
All of a sudden after the Shekinah Glory came, God began to
speak.
Let me tell you something. It’s something about the Blood.
When I begin to talk about the Blood, it’s going to cause the
Glory to fill the place. Not only is the Glory going to fill the
place, but I’m going to hear the voice of Almighty God.
Too many times we take the Blood so lightly. But there’s
power in the Blood.
There were cherubims that overshadowed the Mercy Seat.
Oh, hallelujah, somebody. It’s so interesting, isn’t it, that the
blood was used? And just how the high priest had to apply
the blood, we have to apply the Blood. They applied it in a
natural sense, but we apply it in a spiritual sense. And every
time I turn around, I need to plead the Blood.
The Blood in praise. The Blood in prayer. The Blood in
worship. The Blood in devotion. Whatever it is, I need to
plead the Blood of Jesus.
The high priest could not just have faith in the blood, that it
was going to be appropriate for an atonement for the people.
He had to use the blood.
You see, we’ve been walking around sick. Oh, you don’t hear
me. We’ve been walking around in poverty. You don’t want
to hear this today. But if I would learn how to apply the
Blood over my situation, over my circumstance, every devil
in hell has got to get out of my way. That’s why no weapon
formed against you shall prosper. Why? Because I know the
secret of the Blood.
The Blood of Jesus is a speaking Blood. It’s talking to God
for you. Just like Abel’s blood talked to God, the Blood of
Jesus is talking to God for you. He sees His son’s precious
Blood covering you. And it’s talking to the Lord. It’s
speaking to the Lord. Oh, do you hear what I’m saying
today? I don’t know what you’re going through, but plead the
Blood.
It’s speaking. It speaks mercy from the Mercy Seat, where
Jesus is seated on the right hand of the Father. See, you and I,
we come into a place of revelation. We begin to get an
understanding about certain things.
But we’ll only use it for a season, won’t we? Do you hear
what I’m saying. We will apply that word for a season
because it’ll be fresh on the inside of us. But let me tell you
something about the Blood. It’s not an old cliche. It’s not
something (glory to God) that’s just something to be read
about. It’s something to be applied in our every day lives.
The Blood of Jesus. When Jesus died He didn’t say, the Bible
said, a mumbling word, if I can paraphrase. He didn’t say
anything. And what makes it so powerful, in another
Scripture Jesus said, no man can take my life from Me. He
said, “I laid down My life Myself.”
So when Jesus (listen at what I say) was on that cross, even
though they did all of that piercing, that’s not what killed
Him. Do you hear what I’m saying? He was up on that cross
being crucified. But He had to take His life by Himself. He
had to allow His Blood to be shed by Himself.
The Blood of Jesus is so precious. The life of the flesh is in
the blood. Your blood is so important. You remember when
Pilate said he could find nothing wrong with this just Man?
And the people cried unto him, “And give us Jesus. Give us
this Jesus.” And they said, “Let His Blood be upon us, and
not only us, but our children.” They didn’t understand what
they were saying.
The Blood of Jesus is what we need to start pleading, and not
as a vain repetition. But I need to start pleading the Blood of
Jesus in faith, knowing this, that the power that is in the Blood
is going to pull down every principality and power and ruler
of the darkness of this world, and all spiritual wickedness in
heavenly places.
The Blood of Jesus mixed with the Name of Jesus is an
awesome combination. And I don’t care what’s going on in
your life, it’s got to move. It’s got to stop. If I get that real
revelation, every devil in hell, every devil in the earth has got
to bow it’s knee.
First John five and eighteen tells us that the wicked one
touches Him not. For us to have protection, we must keep
ourselves consciously under the Blood. It’s an atonement for
the soul. And the word “atonement” means that it is a
covering.
And not only is the Blood of Jesus a covering, according to
Leviticus seventeen and twelve, about the atonement. But not
only is it a covering. It’s an impenetrable covering. It cannot
be penetrated. Do you hear what I’m saying to you today? It
protects. Not only does it protect. It washes. It’s whatever
you need the Blood to be.
I want this word fresh in our minds. Because there may be
something. There may be obstacles. There may be situations
that you don’t understand how to get out of. Now you
understand to apply the Blood.
You remember in the book of Exodus when God told them to
take the blood and put it on the doorpost. Didn’t He? Glory
to God. Why? Because it was a covering. It was a natural
covering. And just like the blood was a natural covering for
the devil to pass over, it’s a spiritual covering, so that the
devil got to pass right on by you.
When they sprinkled that blood on the doorposts, it was a part
of their deliverance. See, if you need deliverance today, you
need the Blood of Jesus. Jesus’ Blood was an exodus for us
to get out of sin. Just like that blood was an exodus for them
to get away from Pharaoh’s house.
The Blood of Jesus is what we need. This is part two to that
message about the Blood. Don’t let this one be one that’s a
good word today, but in a couple of months we don’t know
what to do.
The Bible even tells us in Colossians, for our mind, our
conscience to be sprinkled with the Blood. Why? Because the
Blood is going to keep you in a healthy state of mind. Do you
hear what I’m saying? I need to have my conscience... You
know how our conscience is. It can be pretty filthy, can’t it?
But if I apply the Blood there, it’s going to cleanse every
guilty stain.
The Blood of Jesus, that’s what we need.
Give God a handclap of praise today.
