If you would, turn in your Bibles with me to the book of
Matthew chapter thirteen. (Tongues.) Matthew chapter
thirteen. And when you reach the gospel of Matthew, please
signify by saying amen. In Matthew chapter thirteen,
beginning with verse twenty-four, there was another parable.
It said,
24. ...Put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven
is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25. But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares
among the wheat, and went his way.
26. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth
fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27. So the servants of the householder came and said unto
him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from
whence then hath it tares?
28. He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The
servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather
them up?
29. But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root
up also the wheat with them.
30. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time
of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the
tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the
wheat into my barn.
Let us pray.
Most holy and precious heavenly Father, we thank You for
who You are. Father, we don’t walk according to the flesh.
And this is not a message for the flesh. But it’s for, Father,
the spirit. In the Name of Jesus.
Father, hide Your son behind the cross, Jesus. Let Your
people see You and not me. And Father, as I decrease, I ask,
dear heavenly Father, that You would increase. Let the
words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be
acceptable in Thy sight, oh Lord, my strength and my
Redeemer. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
In verse thirty, he said, “Let both grow together until the
harvest.”
When we look at Israel and the time of harvest, it always
represented a time of joy and a time of jubilation. They
recognized the reaping as the provision that God had supplied
for them at that time and for the months to come. Glory to
God.
Wheat was reaped by using a sickle or by pulling up the plant
by their roots before binding them in what they call sheaves.
But along with the wheat there was another plant that began
to grow up. And while it was still tender, while it was still
young, it looked just like the wheat. You could not tell that it
was not wheat until it got full grown. The name of that plant
is called darnel. Look at your neighbor and say, “Darnel.”
Darnel only appears... And that’s d-a-r-n-e-l.
Distinguishable from wheat when it becomes fully grown. At
that point the roots have become so tangled with the wheat
(glory to God) that if you tried to pull up the wheat, or you
tried to use that sickle (glory to God), you would destroy not
only the darnel, but you would destroy the wheat.
Many times in the body of Christ we begin to wonder about
different things that go on in the body of Christ. But God has
given men and women of God wisdom. You have to use
strategy so that you don’t (glory to God) destroy the wheat
with the tares. Hallelujah. Hello somebody.
The roots become so tangled with the wheat, as if it had
become a part of it. That’s why the householder began to
give instructions. In verse thirty he said, “Let both grow
together until the harvest.”
God has given men and women of God instruction in these
last days. You see, you got a tare in your life. And you have
been trying to destroy that tare. But if you destroy that tare
(glory to God) some part of you is going to be destroyed also.
Let it grow up with you. Hallelujah.
The wise farmer knew about the imposter plant. It knew that
it was growing among the blessed wheat. So that’s why he
said, “Let them both grow together.”
In the body of Christ, I’m sad to say, everybody is not who
they say they are. I don’t care what church you go to, I don’t
care what their name is, you are going to have (glory to God)
tares that are growing up with the wheat. You don’t have to
try to destroy anybody. The Bible said that they would be
bundled up together and burned in the fire.
What you saying, pastor? You don’t have to try to put them
together, because they’re already together. Because the
gossipers are going to look for the gossipers. The liars are
going to look for the liars. Oh, you don’t want to hear this
tonight. The homosexuals are going to look for the
homosexuals. The adulterers are going to look for the
adulterers. The...
Oh, you don’t hear me tonight. You don’t have to try to put
them together, because they’re going to find each other. Oh,
hallelujah to Jesus in this house.
You been trying to figure out a way. But the Bible already
done figured it out. The reapers already know their job. You
don’t have to police somebody. Glory to God. The Word
will police them for you.
He said, “Let the tares grow until the time of harvest.” In
other words, let them grow to a place of maturity. When they
reach a place of maturity, that’s when their head is all
swollen. That’s when you can’t tell them nothing. That’s
when you can’t teach... Oh, you don’t hear me tonight.
That’s when you can’t teach them nothing. And pride goeth
before destruction. And a haughty spirit goes before a fall.
Oh, I feel Jesus up in here tonight.
Let them grow up right alongside you. Because their day is
coming. It’s coming like a thief in the night. They’ll be held
accountable for every idle word that has proceeded out of
their mouth. They’ll be held accountable for everything
they’ve seen, everything they’ve done.
Let me tell you something. The Bible says that in the latter
days they will want a preacher to give them exactly what they
want, because they have what are called itching ears.
I was watching Juanita Barnum, wasn’t I? She said her pastor
used to say, even when she tried to go to the bathroom during
the service, sticking up her hand... He’d ask her, “Where are
you going? No, you’re not. Sit it down somewhere.”
We don’t want to hear that no more. Because we’re what?
Too big for our britches. We don’t want the pastor to say
nothing no more. Because we know more than the pastor.
We’re more anointed than the pastor.
You may be more anointed than the pastor. But you need a
shepherd to watch over you. Oh hello, somebody. It’s tight
and it’s right. It’s the season, isn’t it? Somebody needs to
hear this. It’s not a word for the flesh. It’s a word for your
spirit.
That farmer had much wisdom. He said, “Because if I don’t
do it right, I’m going to ruin my harvest.”
You see, it’s so easy when a church is real small... Oh, you
don’t hear me tonight. That if you don’t operate in the spirit
of wisdom, that harvest that God been promising you, you’ll
lose that very harvest if you get out in your... Oh, you don’t
hear me tonight, but I’m going to preach anyway.
He said there was good seed sown. Wasn’t there? He said,
yes, there was good seed sown. But the enemy came by. Any
time you’re trying to get an harvest, Elder Bernie, the
enemy’s going to stop by for a little while.
The enemy sowed the wrong seed. Let me tell you what that
wrong seed is. That wrong seed is doctrine. Doctrine will
poison you. Doctrine will poison your field. The wrong
doctrine will cause the wrong things to grow in your... Oh,
you don’t hear. ...in your garden. The good seed was the
Word of God. And the bad seed was false doctrine.
I don’t have a problem with women preachers. I don’t have a
problem with that. I don’t have a problem with women
pastors. Because the Bible said in Galatians three and twenty-eight there’s neither male nor female in Christ Jesus. Once
they stand up under that anointing, He’ll use anybody that He
wants to use.
But in Corinthians what happened was... The reason why he
said don’t let women do stuff was because they were out of
control. They were doing this and they were doing that. They
were running around prophesying. They were running around
laying hands when it wasn’t appropriate. They didn’t want
nobody to tell them what to do. They were their own boss at
all times.
You got groups just like that in Columbus, Georgia. And I
call them the Taliban. Oh, you don’t hear me tonight. But
I’m going to preach this word. And Bin Ladin is their father.
The devil himself is their father. Because everything they do
is out of order.
God said let everything be done in decency and in order. He
said where there’s envy and strife, there’s confusion and
every evil work.
He said let them grow up with the wheat. This word might
not be for you tonight. But he said when harvest time comes,
they’ll receive their reward.
God knows, just like that householder. He knows what’s
going on in His field. He already knows. The Bible already
says except the Lord build a house, they labor in vain that
build it. All you are is a vessel that He’s using in that house.
It’s Him building the house. You ain’t got to worry about the
tares. It’s Him building the house anyway.
He’s aware of what’s going on in the body of Christ. Back
stabbing and backbiting. He’s aware of it all. Putting folks
down. Causing shame. He’s aware of it all. He knows all
about it.
The one that sowed that good seed was the Son of man. His
Name is Jesus. He put that seed there so it could grow and be
nurtured.
When that other weed attaches itself to that wheat, it’s trying
to steal. It’s trying to suck the very life out of that wheat.
You may have somebody in your life that’s trying to suck the
very life out of you. But let them keep on sucking. You got
more than enough in you.
The incorruptible seeds of the true sons born of the Word of
God. The children of the wicked one are birthed by the false
doctrines.
In First Timothy four verse one and two it says, “In the end
time some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing
spirits.” Wait a minute. Seducing spirits. The biggest
seducer I remember was Delilah. The biggest... Oh, my God,
my God. She seduced the man of God until it caused his
destruction.
“Giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils;
speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared
with a hot iron.” My God, my God.
Saints of God, we need to check who we are. Sometimes we
believe we’re saints, but everybody know we ain’t. That
darnel weed don’t know no better. It thinks it’s a heat
growing up, don’t it? Because it’s in the same garden. But
it’s the doctrine.
Somebody may have taught you something wrong years ago.
You need to let that thing go and get yourself cleansed and
sanctified.
With the women’s movement...
“Why you dwelling on women?”
Because I need to say this. Women’s rights, women’s lib, it’s
alright to a certain point. But it’s wrong when it steps over
the boundaries. When it starts to become like a man, it’s all
wrong.
Saints, we have this word tonight because it’s time we really
know who we are. What is your weakness? If you like to be
around mess, then I don’t care what you say. You’re messy.
If you don’t separate yourself from it, you’re messy. I don’t
care how you look at it. Well, I ain’t said nothing. You’re
around it, so you’re messy too.
You’ve got to separate yourself. Get away from it. Tell them
you don’t want to hear it. And let them start talking about
you then. Because that’s what’s going to happen.
Too many times we’ve been wrapped up in our feelings and
in our emotions when we listen to the Word from the pulpit.
But look at what Jesus said in verse forty-one and verse forty-two. It says,
41. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall
gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them
which do iniquity;
42. And shall cast them into a furnace
This is Matthew chapter thirteen, verse forty-one and verse
forty-two. Verse forty-two.
42. And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be
wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I don’t apologize to you tonight for this word. Because Jesus
didn’t apologize for what He said. He said the tares are going
to hell. There’s a Scripture that He said, “Depart from Me,
you that work iniquity.” He said, “I don’t even know you.”
“Didn’t I prophesy in Your...”
“I don’t know you.”
“I laid...”
“I don’t know you.”
Because it was all a show. It wasn’t about pushing the
Kingdom of God. It was about them pushing their own
agenda.
Humble yourself. He doesn’t give you pastors so your pastors
can just stand over you like, “I’m controlling you.” If you get
a hard word, you better receive that hard word. (Tongues.)
If I were you, I don’t want nobody to tell me, “Oh, hey. And
I got shoes. And you got shoes. And all God’s children got
shoes.” I don’t want to hear that. I want something that’s
going to get me to heaven. That’s what I want.
I remember plenty of times there were things that were done
to me, things said to me. Some of it was on purpose. And
some of it was to help me grow. Because I was so soft (hello,
somebody) In different areas. So I had to get hit in certain
places, so it could hurt me a little bit. Once you hurt a place,
it’ll toughen up, won’t it?
And if something’s there that shouldn’t be there, it’ll cause
me to get on my knees and say, “Lord, take this out of me. I
don’t want it there, because it’s not of You.”
Don’t be a tare. Don’t be a tare. Don’t be a tare. Tell your
sisters; tell your brothers when they’re walking outside of the
Word, tell them, “Don’t be a tare.” But know that He has
called you to be wheat. That’s what He’s called us to. He’s
called us to the Endtime harvest.
The angels already know their job. They’re the reapers. The
Bible says if you’re filthy, be filthy still. Know yourself.
And don’t try to pretend when something’s there, it’s not
there. Don’t try to pretend no more. Come out of denial.
Don’t try to pretend. Get it out. It’s not always somebody
else. It’s me.
Let the wheat grow up with the tares. Give God a handclap of
praise.
